Jerry Henry became the pastor of First Baptist Church of Fairhope on April 15, 2001. He and his wife, Susan, come to First Baptist, Fairhope from Elkdale Baptist Church in Selma where he served for 15 years. We are excited about the vision that God is revealing to Dr. Henry for the ministry of First Baptist Church, Fairhope.

Associate Pastor/Minister to Sr. Adults

A member of FBC since 1991, on ministry staff since 2003. A graduate of Auburn University (B.S. Forestry), U of Mississippi (MBA) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity). His wife is Jean, and they have three children and three grandchildren.

Rev. Brent Shaw

Rev. Brent Shaw began his ministry at First Baptist Church Fairhope, August 1, 2002. He served previously on the First Baptist Staff in the 80s as Minister of Youth. Brent served First Baptist Church in Dothan for 10 years prior to returning to Fairhope. Brent’s wife is Tammy and they have two girls: Lauren and Lindsey.

Rev. John Baldwin

Rev. John Baldwin has been serving as Minister of Music since 1988. He served previously in Florida and Alaska. John’s wife is Cyndee and they have three girls: Ashleigh Baldwin Barkley, Caroline and Janna.

Ryan Smith 
Minister to Students

Ryan has been working with students over the past ten years as a lay leader in churches from Georgia & Alabama. He has also served as Student Worship Leader at Eagles Landing First Baptist Church in Georgia. Ryan has a passion for students and desires to lead them to a deeper knowledge of God by creating Bible Study opportunities coupled with recreational events and relevant worship experiences. Ryan also leads worship at our 11:00am service.

Kevin Nelson
Minister to Children and Families

Kevin is the newest staff member at First Baptist Church and brings several years experience as Minister to Children. Kevin takes care of our children’s ministry needs and the needs of young families at First Baptist.

Sharon Pippin
Pastor’s Assistant/Media Coordinator

Sharon has been on staff at First Baptist since 1983 in a position that started out as youth/music secretary and has evolved to include a myriad of tasks. She coordinates the Media Ministry, Publications and Print media (including this website) in addition to being the Pastor’s Assistant. She is married to Don and they have two college age boys.

Kay Chatham
Financial Secretary

Kay began work back at FBC this Fall as Financial Secretary. She brings a great background of financial experience and is a joy to have in this position. She has two college age children: Lee (married) and Kristen.

LaSha Powell
Education Ministry Assistant

LaSha is the newest addition to the Administrative staff at First. She and her husband David worship at First Baptist and are active in the Shaw Sunday School Class and the Lord’s Supper Committee. They have one son, Dalton who is in high school at Fairhope.

Jennifer Coulter 
Senior Adult and Student Ministry Assistant

Jennifer serves as the ministry assistant to Jeff Ingram with regard to Senior Adults and is the Ministry Assistant to Ryan Smith and the Student Ministry. She also helps out in the pastoral ministry as well. If you go on a trip with our Jubileers, you’ve probably talked with Jennifer. She is married to Van and their son is Tristan.

Delores Lund
Student/Children’s Ministry Assistant

Delores supports the work of the Children and Student Ministries. In addition to serving these two active ministries, Delores is also the first person you meet when you come in to the office. She is married to Ed. Her daughters are Melissa and Donna and she has three grandchildren.

Dee Pace
Music Ministry Assistant

Dee began in 2008 as our Music Ministry Assistant. Combining two areas of Music Secretary and Music Assistant she serves in many varied aspects of the Music Ministry. She is married to Ben and they have two adult children: Gentry (married to Lt. Stephen Jackson) and Jobe.

Sandi Williamson
Director of Housekeeping

Sandi began in 1983 as child care coordinator and her job has taken on a different look over the 26 years she’s been at FBC. She supervises all maintenance staff which is a growing job as the facility grows. She has two adult boys and two grandchildren.
