First Baptist Church is all about reaching it’s world with the good news of Jesus Christ. Whether it is local missions or internal endeavors, we strive to put shoe leather to our faith and help the under-resourced both physically and spiritually.
Operation Christmas Child
Our annual gathering of shoeboxes stuffed with toys, school supplies and hygiene items for children kicks off in October each year. we are asking each family to try to provide one shoebox per family member and that they include a check for $7.00 in each box. The Blessing of the Boxes will be on a designated Sunday in November. Bring your boxes to worship on that Sunday.
Van Riders
Rides are provided for anyone needing transportation to church on Sunday Morning. Call the Education office at 928.8685 to get on the list of riders or to volunteer to drive the van on Sundays.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
Our prayer room was part of the building that burned in 2003. We’re looking forward to having a prayer room once the new sanctuary is complete. Watch for news on this vital ministry.
Childcare
Our Child Care Ministry provides Child care for children ages 0-5 for most of our services. If you are unsure about child care being offered for an event please inquire in the office, 928.8685.
Office Volunteer
A host of volunteers assist our paid support personnel with tasks during the week. To volunteer to serve in this way, contact the church office at 928.8685.
First Baptist Home Health Equipment
This ministry provide many types of medical equipment on a short or long term basis. Contact the Education office at 928.8685.
Monday and Tuesday Night Outreach
This group meets monthly for churchwide outreach and is a night to write cards, make phone calls, or go visit those who have been guests in our services. Watch the weekly “insight” for specifics.
Food Pantry
Our WMU sponsors a Food Pantry to help in benevolent cases where food is needed. Help is given when a call is received from a needy person or family. Needs other than food are addressed by our Family Care Committee.
Community Action Group
This group stays abreast of needs within the community and works to develop ways FBC can meet these needs.
Audio Ministry
Offered through our Music Ministry, this features the sermons preached each Sunday morning and Sunday evening. To order a CD call or emailĀ dpace@fbcfairhope.org in the Music Office at 928.8685. These sermons are also available in the media room of this website.
Library
Our Church Media Library, located off campus at 360 S. Section Street, has a wide variety of the latest Christian literature, videos, and audio tapes for all ages. It is open on Wednesdays from 1:30-5:00 p.m. Amanda Davis is the Church Media Library Director.
